March Challenge

Hello and welcome back to our second challenge here at Beading Friends Forever. I just want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for making the first challenge such a wonderful success and for all your messages you have sent me. Myself and the design team were just blown away with your entries and your enthusiasm.

So here we go, moving onto this month's challenge. As you know by now it is a 2 part challenge - a theme and a tutorial.

Theme - Your favourite colour combination

You can share any new piece of jewellery you have created with your favourite colour combination that you have not previously shown on your blog or Facebook.

Tutorial - Double Spiral Bracelet

Please follow the video below to create your bracelet. The basic design must be followed although your can change the shape and size of the beads to create different looks. Thankyou so much to Kelly from Off The Beaded Path for allowing us to use her tutorial

Materials required:

Size 6 seed beads

Size 11 seed beads (2 colours)

4mm rounds (2 colours - approx 75 of each colour)

Beading needle

6lb Fireline

Clasp

February Challenge ..... Our very first challenge!

Good afternoon and welcome to the very first ever challenge here on Beading Friends Forever. It has been too long for beaders and lovers of jewellery making not to have their own challenge blog and so I thought rather than complain about it I should just create a place for us all to come together and play once a month.

The idea is simple. A 2 part challenge comprising of a theme and a tutorial/pattern. You can choose to enter one part or both plus you can enter as many times as you like as long as you follow a few simple rules to make it fair for everyone. The rules are on the sidebar so please have a quick look before playing along.

I am so lucky to have a fabulous design team who are here to provide lots of inspiration and will use a wide range of techniques. Plus they are the loveliest bunch of ladies I know. Make sure you pop over to their personal blogs for more details about their individual creations.

Tutorial - Hugs and Kisses Bracelet

Please follow the video tutorial below. The basic design must be followed although you can use different sized beads to create different looks. Many thanks to Aleshia from Beadifulnights for allowing us to use her tutorial.

Materials required:

For a 7 inch bracelet----------For an 8 inch bracelet

8 ft. of 10lb. test fishing/fireline------------8 ft. of 10lb. test fishing line/fireline

10-7mm/8mm round beads blue------------11-7mm/8mm round beads blue

11-5mm/6mm round beads green------------12-5mm/6mm round beads green

40-3mm/4mm round beads black-------------44-3mm/4mm round beads black

20-3mm/4mm round beads purple------------22-3mm/4mm round beads purple

11/0 seedbeads in 3 colours------------11/0 seedbeads in 3 colours

lobster claw clasp or toggle---------------lobster claw clasp or toggle

2 jump rings--------------------------2 jump rings

Feel free to use any size beads - as long as the pattern can be seen ..... let's get creative!
